Hello loves!
I cannot believe it is already JULY?!
Summer is flying by …. (no bueno.)
Anyways, when I think of summer, I think of the beach. When I think of the beach, I think of being tan. When most people think about being “tan”, they think about laying out a beach towel, lathering on some sunscreen and falling asleep with your headphones in. Here is my opinion on laying out in the sun… like I said, MY opinion...

Honestly, I do not have the patience to lay out in the sun for hours just to get sun kissed.
My feeling is, I could be spending my time being so much more productive rather than laying out and taking in those sun rays!
Now, don’t get me wrong, I can sit for about an hour , but after that I start getting restless and have to get up, move around and accomplish something.
*Plus not to mention, the sun is beautiful but doesn’t always positively serve our skin for the long run.
I am a huge fanatic about PREVENTION. If there is a way to prevent my skin, body and health from having issues in the future, I am ALL about it!
Therefore, laying out in the beaming sun for long periods of time is not the brightest idea for maintaining glowing skin.
This is where we meet SPRAY TANS. Yes, people I know it is “not natural” but the benefits make them SO worth it.
First, a spray tan takes 10 minutes, MAX.
Second, it is not damaging your skin but instead bringing an extra glow to your already FAB look.
Third, it lasts for a good week AT LEAST depending on how you take care of it.
Fourth, you will look like a MILLION bucks without worrying about wrinkles and sunspots in the future! (HOW CAN YOU PASS THIS UP?!).
The downside of a spray tan is that you have to pay for the service, but for me, I think it is totally worth it. This is a decision you can mill around and decide for yourself.
Now onto my tips for when you decide to get a spray tan. *PS. I have gone to iTAN every time and have been MORE THAN thrilled with my results.*
Tip 1: I will HIGHLY suggest starting with an airbrush tan because the spray tanner at the salon will work one-on-one with you to make sure you get the exact look you are going for. *If you are more experienced with tans, then by all means choose which is best for you whether it being a booth or a person*. PERSONALLY, I find that the airbrush works best for me.
Tip 2: Immediately after your spray tan ALWAYS ALWAYS ALWAYS use a baby wipe and scrub your hands and feet so they do not appear orange. I don’t know if anyone else has experienced this but the only place on my body that will look orange is my hands and feet so I always SCRUB SCRUB SCRUB them with a baby wipe.
Tip 3: The third tip is wear something SUPER loose fitting to your appointment. I will always wear loose workout shorts, an extra large fitness tank top OR a maxi dress to prevent any of the tan rubbing off on clothing.
Tip 4: LOTION LOTION LOTION every single day after your tan. Previously when I have gotten a tan, I will make an afternoon/evening appointment and then go straight home after and relax for the evening not getting ANY water or liquid on the areas that were sprayed. (Yes, even my face. Every time, they have sprayed over my makeup and I just do not wash my face that night.) The next morning I will rinse of making sure the extra clumps of tan are all gone. By putting lotion on everyday, you will prolong the length of your tan and I SWEAR this has totally worked for me.
There you have it! These are my MAINS when getting a spray tan, and of course the salon should walk you through the process as well.
I have not tried the "instant tan" lotions such as St. Tropez or L'oreal's but I have heard good reviews. For me, I would definitely rather have a professional helping rather than me failing and look like an orange lobster the next day. Once again, just MY opinion.
I hope my tips for your next spray tan make your experience ten times more enjoyable and successful!
Happy Wednesday BABES!!
