An Oil You NEED To Own

Hello love bugs!

I hope you all are having a fantastic week so far! ( One day closer to Friday...YES! )

I am EXTREMELY excited because tomorrow my babe and I are going to be apart of the live studio audience at the “Late Late Show With James Corden”!!! I couldn’t be more anxious (AHH!) and I will write a post telling you all about the entire experience later on!

Anyways, recently an oil that I use almost daily, is my new “NEED TO HAVE” tip for you guys.

Sooooo basic, but it really is a MUST to keep in your home.

Coconut oil can be used for numerous reasons including, cooking, a makeup remover, a teeth whitener, in substitution of lotion, soothing a sunburn and to keep those flyaway hairs maintained.

Lately, I have been washing my hair, at the MOST, three times a week.

I usually shower in the morning, so the night before I lather coconut oil in my hair from root to tip.

I let it set in my hair overnight and rinse it out in the morning (and no, it is not difficult to rinse out!).

I have noticed a huge difference in my hair health by not washing it more than three times a week and doing this coconut oil ritual once a week!

Try it and let me know what you think!

The second way I have been using coconut oil is, as soon as I wake up in the morning (not having washed my teeth yet) swash the oil around in my mouth while I am doing my makeup or taking a shower.

Then I obviously brush my teeth, and I swear that my teeth are whiter! Now, it is not a "one-and-done" type of ordeal but if you add this routine at least three times a week, you will see a visual difference!

I have also been sticking a straw in my coffee mug to make sure the coffee does not stain my teeth. (I totally recommend this, if you’re wanting those pearly whites.)

Tea also will stain your teeth so using the straw method would help keep that issue maintained.

Moving on, I definitely use coconut oil while cooking as well ( especially with those MOUTH WATERING three ingredient pancakes).

You can also take a heaping spoonful of coconut oil and stick it in your smoothies for some healthful fats.

You can find coconut oil at your local health food store or on Amazon. ( I suggest organic, virgin and unrefined coconut oil. )

Here is a couple quick and easy smoothie recipes to add coconut oil in ( I will definitely be making these this week, YUM! ).

Strawberry Banana

-1 frozen OR ripe banana (I prefer frozen).

-2 cups of frozen strawberries

-1 tbsp honey

-2 cups of unsweetened vanilla almond milk

-8 oz of vanilla greek OR coconut yogurt

-1 spoonful of coconut oil

Coffee Lover Protein Shake

-½ ripe banana

-1 scoop no sugar added vanilla protein powder

-½ cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk

-½ cup cold or room temperature brewed coffee

-1 ½ cup of ice

-1 spoonful of coconut oil

-Sprinkle of cocoa nibs for the topping ( if desired! )

I hope you all enjoyed this post and have a productive and coconut oil filled rest of your week!

( P.S. the Bachelorette finale was insane!! #teambrian )

xoxox.
